Reinforcement of a concrete tank of a waste water treatment plant
Description
As a result of various drillings, severed prestressed wires (Ø5 mm, winding method) had to be replaced in a concrete tank of the GVRZ with a diameter of 17 m and a total height of 24 m dating from 1974. For this purpose, a solution with a slotted re-bar 16 bar in the reprofiling mortar Sika MonoTop®-412 N was chosen. The slot over a length of 10.5 m was cut beforehand and the bar was then positioned. The two ends were anchored with a mortar section with a length of approx. 50 cm and then the bars were activated to >300°C by gas torch. The free length between the anchors was eventually covered with the cementitious mortar. The re-bar reinforcement is a simple and very efficient reinforcement method with prestressing for concrete tanks.
